The Future of Applied Geophysics
A series of seminars sponsored by the Bay Area Geophysical Society (BAGS) and Colorado School of Mines
Seminar 2: Tools
In this seminar we explore various tools and instruments currently used in applied geophysics and how they might continue to develop in the future.
Please plan to join us in person if you can at 3 pm on Oct 19th on the Colorado School of Mines campus in Golden, Colorado, or virtually via Zoom.
Time: 3-5 pm MDT, October 19, 2022
Room: Green Center, Room 224
Zoom registration: Zoom registration link
Featured presentations:
UAV geophysics for 2023 and beyond Ron Bell, Drone Geoscience, LLC |
DAS and distributed sensing in geophysics Jeffrey Shragge, Colorado School of Mines |
||
Accelerating geophysics research in a changing climate Lindsey Heagy, University of British Columbia |
Efficient data acquisition as an enabler of geophysical solutions Mengli Zhang, Colorado School of Mines |
Each speaker will give a 15-minute presentation, followed by a Q and A after all the presentations. After this the floor is open to all. The final open discussion will hopefully focus on tools not covered in the presentations, associated technical challenges, and finally discuss training and preparation for scientists and technicians for the future.
See you there!
