The Future of Applied Geophysics
A series of seminars sponsored by the Bay Area Geophysical Society (BAGS) and Colorado School of Mines
Seminar 3: Business Case
In this seminar, we explore the business factors of applied geophysics beyond the exploration for oil and gas resources.
Please plan to join us on Nov 8th on the UC Berkeley Campus for this In Person event, if you can.
Time: 4-6 pm PST, November 8, 2022
Room: McCone Hall, Room 325
Zoom registration: Zoom registration link
Featured presentations:
CO2 Storage and Management Bill Abriel Business Development, SEG Advanced Modeling Corporation |
|
Strategic Minerals Michelle Thomas Global Practice Lead Geophysicist, BHP |
|
Groundwater Paul Bauman Lead Geophysicist, BGC Engineering |
Each speaker will give a 20-minute presentation. A question and answer (Q&A) session will follow the presentations. After this the floor is open to all. The final open discussion will hopefully focus on applications not covered (such as geothermal, environmental and engineering), technical and financial challenges associated with this type of geophysics, and discuss training and preparation for scientists and technicians for the future.
See you there!
