Officers


mike Michael Wilt - PRESIDENT

Michael has had a long career in bay area geophysics working at both Lawrence Berkeley and Lawrence Livermore National Labs, for Electromagnetic Instruments Inc. in Richmond, and for Schlumberger in their technology centers in Richmond and Berkeley. He received his B.S. (1973) and M.S. (1975) in Geophysics from UC Riverside and his PhD from UC Berkeley in 1991 in applied geophysics. At present he works part time at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory doing research in EM methods.

fred Fred Herkenhoff - VICE PRESIDENT

Fred received BSc (1964) and MSc (1966) in Geophysics from Stanford. He started work with California Research Company as a Research Geophysicist, and had assignments in 13 Chevron subsidiaries accumulating 16 years as a programmer/interpreter, 18 years in technology management as Division/Chief Geophysicist and 14 years as a Geophysical Advisor in Chevron’s Energy Technology Co. Since retirement in 2014, his interest in emerging geophysical technologies is supplemented by golf and cycling! Fred is a life member of BAGS, a lecturer of Applied Geophysics at UC Berkeley, an affiliate in LBNL’s Geophysics Division, and an Emeritus Chevron Fellow.

mitch Mitchell Craig - SECRETARY

Mitch is Professor and Graduate Coordinator of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at California State University, East Bay. He teaches courses in Applied Geophysics, Near Surface Geophysics, Exploration Seismology, Geographic Information Systems, and Natural Disasters.

katherine Katherine Dlubac - TREASURER

Katherine is an Engineering Geologist with the California State Water Resources Control Board. where she assists in implementing California's Sustainable Groundwater Management Act. She previously worked as an environmental consultant, providing litigation and mediation support, assisting public and private agencies with regulatory and stormwater compliance, and conducting environmental site assessments. Katherine holds a Bachelors degree in Geophysics from The University of Texas at Austin and a Masters and Doctorate degree in Geophysics from Stanford University.

erika ERIKA GASPERIKOVA - PAST PRESIDENT

Erika came to the Bay Area in 1995 to pursue her Ph.D. in electromagnetic geophysical techniques in Engineering Geoscience at UC Berkeley. After finishing her degree, she stayed in the Bay Area, and she has worked at UC Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory ( http://eesa.lbl.gov/profiles/erika-gasperikova/).
